Start of Symptoms

My symptoms started in August of 2005. I work as an architectural draftsperson, and my job was 1 hour from where I lived. I had been going to the gym about 3 times a week, eating properly etc. I did not have any symptoms related to this problem prior to this. My symptoms started out in my feet, both feet started to go numb, and kind of a dead feeling. I would walk slightly funny because my feet wouldn't walk the way they are susposed to. This went on for approximately 1.5 weeks, and I just thought it was from sitting at my job so much, then sitting while driving to work and back. After the 1.5 weeks, I was at the gym, and had explained to my trainer that my feet were going numb and thought maybe it was from the aerobics that I was doing, so she went through the steps and everything seemed to be fine. That night, I did not do aerobics, but did some weights, and by the time I left the gym I could barely drive home because the numbness had developed all the way up to my hips. So at this point I could not walk properly, almost not at all. I went in to the doctor and he completed some blood tests, and I was set up for an mri. The blood tests and the mri came back negative for anything. The doctor thought it was ms, but nothing could be seen. I was told that maybe it was from a cold or the flu, but I had not been sick in quite awhile. At this point, my job was on hold because I could not get around my house by myself, go to the bathroom or even shower myself. These symptoms continued for the next month.
